Events & Advocacy
Talya is a first-year medical student at New York Medical College and a member of the Events and Advocacy Committee for the Center for Human Rights. Originally from Riverdale, New York, she developed an early commitment to public service through her work addressing food insecurity across New York City.
She graduated from Macaulay Honors College at Queens College, where she majored in Neuroscience and Biology and was actively involved in student government, advocating for student needs and campus initiatives. Prior to medical school, Talya worked as an ophthalmology technician, gaining hands-on clinical experience and insight into patient care.
Talya is passionate about the intersection of medicine and social justice and joined the Center for Human Rights to continue advancing health equity and advocating for underserved communities. She hopes to carry this commitment forward in her future career as a physician.
