Case Manager

 Olivia is a first-year medical student at NYMC. She grew up in upstate New York, where her experiences working with underserved individuals in her community sparked her passion for advocacy. Through her undergraduate years, she continued volunteering through the Spanish club and had the opportunity to work closely with immigrant families in the community. Her favorite experience was hosting a children’s storytime at the local library, where she read children's stories in Spanish and led a craft-making session. As a Case Manager for the NYMC CHR, she is dedicated to facilitating collaboration between clinicians and legal teams to help asylum seekers. She is excited to help contribute to this work and eager to continue learning about the complex intersection between social justice and healthcare, particularly about understanding the physician’s role within it
