Case Manager

Julia Smith is a first-year medical student from New York. She graduated from Smith in 2019 with a degree in English and French literature. She wrote her senior thesis on Vladimir Nabokov, himself a political refugee, whose continued statelessness heavily influenced his work. Before starting medical school, she worked as a scribe in an Emergency Department and as a victim’s advocate for SAAVE at Westchester Medical Center. She believes that stories are integral to healthcare and enjoys using her background in writing to help others get the care and freedom they need.

In her free time, Julia likes to read, write, bake cakes, and cuddle with her poodle, Fred.
