Case Manager

John V. Crupi is an MD candidate at New York Medical College. Raised in Valhalla, NY, the very place NYMC is located, he naturally developed a strong connection to his community that persists to this day. College brought him to New York City, where he worked as a harm reduction and smoking cessation counselor for individuals living with HIV/AIDS. Through this experience, he developed a lasting interest in addressing the broader factors that shape patient health and access to care. Upon returning home to NYMC, he sought to continue this service, now within the community that shaped him, by joining the NYMC Center for Human Rights, where he assists individuals seeking asylum in the United States. John is particularly interested in the intersection of clinical medicine and health policy. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, exploring the cuisine of different cultures, and following professional wrestling.
